The A537 / SA537 standard, its full name is “Standard Specification for Pressure Vessel Plates, Heat-Treated, Carbon-Manganese-Silicon Steelâ€, is intended use in the manufacture of fusion welded pressure vessels and structures.
The material under this specification is available in three classes. Class 1 steel is supplied in the normalised condition and the specification covers plates up to 100 mm (4 inches) in thickness.
