Steel maintains an inventory of Type Stainless Steel 304L Round Bars. 304 is an
austenitic stainless steel with non-magnetic properties in the annealed condition
that offers good corrosion resistance to both chemical and atmospheric
exposures, with a high resistance to oxidation. Type 304L Stainless Steel Round
Bar has good forming and excellent welding characteristics. It is
non-hardenable by heat treatment. Grade 304L or UNS S30403 as it’s called
technically, in general is preferred due to the fact that it is the Stainless Steel
content variant of Type 304 and because it is “free machining†variant. The
Grade 304L comes with immense blend of corrosion resistance, strength and
fabricibility, which makes it suitable for almost in all types of industries.
