This "Quality Czar" position will help Pearl Alloys to become even more systematic and successful about how we manage for and deliver quality to our customers. Pearl Alloys approach to quality begins with understanding client's needs and expectations in general, and in particular on a job by job basis. These expectations begin from the very start of the process till the end covering all aspects of the job, such as sorting,feeding,melting,testing,casting,shipping, and even accounting tasks. Before jobs are accepted, Pearl Alloys personnel work with clients to fully understand their requirements and to be sure that those requirements can be met. The requirements are then communicated among all personnel involved in satisfying that job, and it is understood that when anything is unclear people ask questions rather than make assumptions before any further processing is done. In this way satisfaction is almost guaranteed. Key processes are monitored throughout the company for ways to improve consistency and efficiency and value to clients. Quality Assurance personnel, for example, assist the Sorting, Melting, and Casting areas to monitor key quality variables such as material composition, Ingot piece accuracy, and accurate shipment methods. product img2In addition, key external and internal indicators of performance have been developed for the overall company and for individual departments as part of the quality planning process, and these are monitored and reviewed regularly to identify opportunities for improvement. As such opportunities are identified, appropriate personnel are involved and actions developed with corresponding responsibilities and schedules for implementation. Management is actively involved in the quality process and formally reviews progress in improving performance on a monthly basis. Where appropriate to ensure consistency, procedures are developed, written, and implemented.
